I chose to write my discussion post on a Torn Glenoid Labrum (SLAP Tears). I chose to write about this because I had a torn Labrum about 5 years ago and never really educated myself on the repair. The Labrum is the cup-shaped rim of cartilage that lines and reinforces the ball and socket joint of the shoulder. The Glenoid is the shallow shoulder socket and the head of the upper arm bone. Symptoms of a Labrum tear might include aching pain, difficulty performing normal shoulder movements, a locking, popping, or grinding sensation, pain when lifting, a decrease in shoulder strength, and a decrease range of motion. Having a Glenoid Labrum tear has nothing to do with genetics. Genetics are not a cause for this issue,
