Romeo and Juliet is a tragic love story that has been reenacted over and over again in each generation. In 2006 the movie Gnomeo and Juliet came out to sort of mimic Romeo and Juliet and was chosen because it is the most modern. There are some similarities and some differences in these stories. Gnomeo and Juliet was based off of Romeo and Juliet but put in a more modern day form. In either story the Montague and Capulets play a role, Juliet and Romeo/Gnomeo both meet in secret, and the families end the feud.
In Romeo and Juliet there is two families with a history of hatred named the Montague and the Capulets. The have had a feud going on for a while. The Montague have a boy named Romeo while the Capulets have a young lady named Juliet. In Gnomeo and Juliet there are two older neighbors who don’t get along named Mr. Capulet and Mrs. Montague and their gnomes come alive when they leave the garden and have a feud also.
