Luke Templet Professor Waguespack Sociology 4/10/24 Gnomeo and Juliet Gnomeo and Juliet is a film about a pair of gnomes that fall in love but have to hide their relationship due to their families. These two families are rivals and despise each other. It is a loosely based story on the Shakespearean play, Romeo and Juliet. In this “society” of gnomes, there are red and blue gnomes that are meant to symbolize the Monetgues and Capulets. The reason for the long-lasting feud can be for many reasons. There is the fact that both heads of the families were mourning their spouses, or that they were fighting over who had the more pristine garden. However, since it is a kids' film, it is likely that who has the superior garden. There is constant conflict
