Why would you want to invest in a golf ball retriever?
We’ve all been there before, in the water hazard with only a few balls left in our bag and the back nine still to go; you can see the ball right there and try to hack it out with a wedge. A foot slips in. Now your shoes are ruined, your pants are wet, your partners are laughing and you still don’t have the ball. Wade in and get it? Well, I’ve done it at that point.

Avoiding Heckling
A while back, a buddy of mine and I were on a professional course playing for fun. Neither one of us had a golf ball retriever so when we got to a Par 4 dogleg left on the 16th, we both looked at the water hazard in front of the green with trepidation. I asked him how many golf balls he had left and he said, “Just the two” since we both had some trouble back on the 7th crossing the same water hazard. Not wanting to lose any more balls, we both laid up, took the extra stroke and went on our way.
Fast forward ahead one year and my same friend and I are playing a foursome with my boss and his soon-to-be father-in-law. Yes, the golf trip that nightmares are made of. Not having thought much about it until we came up to the 7th, we immediately both remembered the hazard coming up on the 16thand knew that it’d be impossible to lay up on a Par 4 again this time without never hearing the end of it.
