1.What are the differences between being a biological parent, an adoptive parent, and a foster parent? A Biological parent is one that brings someone else into this world, a person who brings up and cares for another. Adoptive parent is when one takes full responsibility for another, and raises them. A foster parent is one assigned by the state, taking parental control and responsibility of the child.
2.What financial needs are parents obligated to provide and which are optional? Obligated to provide food, clothing, shelter, and health care. They are not obligated to provide activities such as traveling, lessons, toys, and/or sports.
3.What other needs might a child have that a parent is expected to provide? A parent is expected to provide Education, discipline, safety, mental/ emotional stability.
4.What are the qualities of a nurturing parent? Being there for their every need and supporting them.
Critical Thinking Questions
1.What qualities make a person a good parent? A bad parent? Being there when needed, being supportive, giving them all that you can makes you a good parent. Sitting there, doing nothing, ignoring your child’s needs, makes you a bad parent
2.Which parental responsibilities do you think would be the most challenging? Why? Keeping them safe when their older. Because I’m a teenager and I know how I am with my parents. I’ll try to keep them safe but they might lie just so you won’t be as protective over the situation.
