They would level this criticism at us because they are the ones who are preaching a new gospel of sinfulness. Their teachings urge people to be born again but to continue living in sin. They maintain that people have been liberated from the law and are thus free to live as they wish. This is falsehood and it is doing harm to their audiences. They justify their love of sin by saying salvation comes through faith alone. On this matter, they twist the message of the gospel to suit their sinfulness. They use the truth to justify what is vile in the eyes of God. Moreover, they think they could continue living in sin because the work of the cross is the finished work which does not demand anything from the believers.
This is foolishness and blindness that has been authored by the devil. Those who believe in Jesus loves what he loves and hate all that He hates. Our salvation has opened our eyes to the truth about sin and the righteousness of God. We now want to live in holiness as we know that sin will defile us, and it will eventually chase away from the heart of God. If we are truly saved, we must desire to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord.
To speak of righteousness is to speak about the nature of our Father who is seated in heaven. Our father saved us from sin because He hates sin. He has saved us so that He may separate to Himself a generation of people who are conformed to His likeness. He is Holy and He wants us to be as holy as He is.
