The butterfly effect is a concept that states that small causes can have a larger effect.
Although the concept originated from meteorologist’s desire to predict weather, it became something much greater than that. Taking effect not only in our everyday life but on a global scale as well.

When it comes to climate changes Gotfryd believed that there are “essentially two types of human adaptation...reactive and proactive.” The reactive stance is a wait and see approach while the proactive is goal oriented and quality of life driven. He believes that it is “human will that shapes the adaptive response and that will is a function between two basic factors: the stomach and soul.” Like Noah from the Bible, our motive to conserve originates from the spiritual side of man. For example with the movie industry, people once needed to go to movie theatres to watch movies but then came movie renting stores such as Blockbuster. Blockbuster allowed people to rent movies and watch it from the convenience of their home. It was really popular but unfortunately rather than being proactive and adapting to the changes in technology, it was reactive and lost to companies such as Netflix who incorporated and utilized movie streaming to draw in more customers.
