Compassion
Grafton, is my name. I am a former slave for the ship Goliath. I did a lot while aboard the ship Goliath. I occasionally cooked, but mainly I cleaned the ship. Every part in fact that had no slaves, I managed a few slaves and gave them guidance that they had to follow. I wasn't anyone in command I was a slave, just like everyone (fellow slaves) else. Some would even go as far to say I had “special treatment”. The story I am about to reveal to you, a story that made me the person who i am today. A free wealthy man, I am no longer a slave… I am Grafton. I always prayed that God would save me from this place and make me free. Prayer in my family when i was young was very important to us. The last words my mother said before she left was a verse from The Bible, “... always pray and never give up.” I knew I was on that ship for a reason, even under the terrible circumstances.

But my arm would not allow me to do so. As the Great Captain hollard at me with obseaned names i pulled him out of the water and closer to the tree line. The seas seemed to die down, and i observed the wreckage. Many men lie dead, floating in the sea. Being washed upon shore by the tide. I looked to see if there was any ship left and there was none. Only the bits and pieces that had floated above and was being tossed about in the ocean. I assesed the Great Captains wounds and his leg was broken and had a huge gash. His leg was bleeding out, quickly i told The Captain, “Hold it shut! Ill be right back!” With that i ran into the woods not far just a few metres as The Captain hollard, “Where are you going you worthless Bo-Bo!” I tripped over a log and saw what i was looking for. I grabbed a hand full and quckly came back. I told The Catptain, “Look i found some ants to close your wounds.” I stuck the ants to the wound and as they bit i pinched their heads off locking them in
