From then on, I became Cato's right hand guy. He gave me a room in his grand opulent white house. Like me, I found that he was alone and without any kin- well father really no longer counts. I catered to his every need from the moment he wakes up in the morning to the moment he closes his eyes to sleep. I know how he wanted his coffee- strong black, what he wanted in his travel suitcase, what he wanted to eat from breakfast to dinner. When I walked towards them, his playmates saw me and stood up. They all tipped thier hats at me, only Moby didn't.
"Howdy Doug! It's been a long time," he said with a smirk. Something changed about him. There was that hardness that wasn't there before.
The other guys excused themselves.
"You look well. How are you?" I genuinely missed him. We worked through the hard times together.
"See I'm fairing- maybe not as great as you- but well," he avoided my eyes. He said that with a smile, but it seemed forced.
"I'm glad. If you need anything, just tell me."
"I would," he said with a glint in his eyes. I'm not sure if I imagined it, but somehow he looked menacing to me so I took my leave.
I was introduced to the new runners who were all about the same age I was when I started here. Moby would be their watcher. Before I left the camp, I instructed him to take care of them. They were us.
