The Great Wall of China is one of the most recognized historical landmarks in the world. Hosting over millions of tourists a year, it has now become the known symbol of China. Initially, the concept of building the wall came from Shi Huangdi who at the time was the emperor of the third century built sections of the wall to keep invaders, or as described in Document B as barbarians. It wasn't until the Qin dynasty where the process of creating an actual wall started to manifest. Furthermore, the Great Wall of China had more disadvantages than advantages because it created an inadequate border, it also killed thousands of people, and slowed down the trading routes.
