Money can cause people to do many things, it is not a strength it is a weakness. That weakness can drive a person to do many things that can bring them down morally. A person will do anything to get money and will not stop even if they know it is wrong. The Pardoner in the Canterbury Tales is very money oriented; he sales items that are supposed to cure people of their sins, but doesn't care about the sins he is making because he is just wants money. "I preach for nothing but greed of gain" (Canterbury line 42)." He also states “I make my living out of-avarice and yet however guilty of that sin myself with others I have power to win. (Canterbury line 46-48). This implies that he knows that he is committing a sin but because he is aware of it he rather repent and make money. Rumpelstiltskin commits sins against the people who make agreements with him, and don't hold their side of the agreement up. He shows that he commits sins when they were looking for his most prized possession and it was his dagger that he uses it to show that he has power. He also uses it to kill people that get in the way of his money (Season 2, Episode 4). Additionally, when Regina pulls out his heart it is almost all black and that shows that is turning all evil and he can't even avoid it (Season 3, Episode5). Those show that one his heart turns black because he has committed so many sins and killed so many people he will not be able to become pure again. This is an example of how money can be sugar spice and everything nice until you realize that you choose money over everything including your
