You look down, a village in flames. You are a dragon! Fly above the clouds and devour midgets in your way. Dragons, the fire breathing flying serpents and giant wings. Although the serpents are only myth, here are some interesting things about them. The word Dragon comes from Old French and has Latin draconem meaning huge serpent and Greek drakon or drakontons meaning serpent or giant sea fish. The dragons have changed over time as new things pop up and the cultures grow. There has been quite a difference in dragons since then to now. Starting with the Greeks. Today we have theories on what caused the thought of dragons.

Greek dragons had three types. Dracones, Cetea and Dracaenae. Dracones, pronounced like DRACK-ONS were very large serpents. They usually had poisonous venom or many heads. The South slavic dragon can be a Zmaj or Aždaja. The East Slavic dragon is known as the Zmey Gorynych. It lives in Russia or the Ukraine. The dragon has three heads that regenerate after being cut off. It is close to the hydra and walks on two hind legs. It is covered in green scales. The front paws are smaller than the back and the dragon has a lethal fire. It is usually evil and non-intelligent. The dragon will not die unless each head is cut off before it is re grown. It cannot regrow heads if it does not have one head. The Zmaj or Zmiy or Zmey lives mostly in Slovenia and is the coat of arms of Ljubljana, Capitol of Slovenia. The dragon is very intelligent and kind and usually don't harm humans. They are rich and are very strong. The Aždaja is unlike a normal dragon. It is evil and knows black magic. It hides in dark places unreachable and has many heads from three to nine. It cannot do anything
