The very first theatre was the Greek Theatre. The Greek Theatre could hold 18,000 people on the inside. It was a circular shaped stage and a rectangular seating place. The shows were usually comedies or tragedies. In the comedy shows they usually wore bright colors and in the tragedy shows they usually wore dark colors.
Most of the actors were men.
The Globe Theatre was like the Greek Theatre but, it wasn’t the first theatre to be built. It could hold almost 3,000 people inside. The Globe Theatre was 27 feet wide and 43 feet tall. It burned down in 1613 but, it got rebuilt in 1614. One year after. Even though it was called The Globe Theatre it’s real name was Shakespeare’s Globe.
