Green tea is one of the types of tea that is entirely made out of leaves. It is also very popular in ancient times and it was originated in China. “Green tea has been used as traditional medicine in areas such as China, Japan, India, and Thailand to help everything from controlling bleeding and helping heal wounds to regulating body temperature, blood sugar, and promoting digestion.” (Green tea) Green tea is good for the body. It is good by the use of long life, lowering the chances of heart disease, prevention of HIV, decreasing the risks of esophageal cancer, and also introduced for losing weight. Even though it has good sides there are also risks about it.
Having a longer life is one of the good principles of drinking green tea. According to Dr. Emily Senay, “researchers from Japan conducted a study of 40,000 people ages 4079. They followed people over 11 years and found that people, who consume five or more cups of green tea a day, were 16 percent less likely to die from anything during that time compared to people who drink one cup a day.” (Studies: Green Tea May Help Prolong Life) She meant that drinking green tea is very useful for longer life and everyone should try drinking it. She believes that drinking green tea is one out of many procedures to have a longer life. Many people all over the world would like to have a longer life because most of them want to achieve something or some of them would like to discover something. For example, engineers or kings who good things towards their people wanted long life to see if their own hard work will prosper the land.
Meanwhile, in an evil scientist or leader point of view, they will want longer life to distribute their own evil plans throughout the land and rule over it.
Lowering the chances of heart diseases is also one of the benefits of drinking green tea. According to the “Book of Tea written by Zen priest Eisai in 1191, describes how drinking green tea can have a positive effect on the five vital organs, especially the heart. The book discusses tea’s medicinal qualities which include easing the effects of alcohol, acting as a stimulant, curing blotchiness, quenching thirst, eliminating indigestion, curing beriberi disease, preventing fatigue, and improving urinary and brain function.” (Green Tea Health Benefits) The Zen priest believes that all of these things are good because green tea reduces the risks that will infect the five vital organs. Heart diseases are very common for people who are fat, somewhere around old age, and for skinny people. For example, a heart attack is one of an example of a heart disease. Heart attack usually occurs when a blood clot is in the coronary artery.
Another good benefit for the body for drinking green tea is for preventing HIV. According to specialists, “In lab tests,
EGCG, found in green tea, was found to prevent HIV from attacking TCells. Scientists in Japan have found a component of green tea can stop HIV from binding to healthy immune cells, which is how the virus spreads. Their laboratory tests suggest a chemical called Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) protects cells.” (Green Tea Health
Benefits) HIV is also known as Human immunodeficiency virus or lentivirus. HIV can lead to AIDS. HIV is a virus that attacks the immune system of humans that will lead to life threatening infections. TCells are names of another group within the group of white blood cells. TCells are mostly called lymphocytes. Epigallocatechin Gallate is a catechin and is most abundant in tea. ECGC kills cancer cells, effective in lowering LDL cholesterol levels, and hinders the formation of blood clots.
Decreasing the risks of esophageal cancer is also one of the health benefits of drinking green tea. According to the
“Journal of the National Cancer Institute in 1994, the results of an epidemiological study indicates that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer by nearly sixteen percent.
