Book Critique of Greenstein's The Presidential Difference: Leadership Style from FDR to Clinton
In the novel that I, Megan Nunn read, The Presidential Difference: Leadership Style from FDR to Clinton, author Fred I. Greenstein offers new insights into the successes and failures in the Oval Office of eleven American Presidents. Greenstein is currently a professor of politics at Princeton University (“Princeton,” 2015). He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and he was also president of the International Society of Political Psychology. In 1953, he earned a BA from Antioch College and a PhD from Yale University in 1960 (“Princeton” 2015). The Presidential Difference: Leadership Style from FDR to Barack Obama is written in the same format and on the same topics as The Presidential Difference: Leadership Style from FDR to Clinton. It starts off with an introduction to the presidential difference, just as he did in the book I read. He goes through the same modern presidents listed in my book, The Presidential Difference. Then he adds a chapter about George W. Bush and the politics of agenda control and the breakthrough of Barak Obama (Google Books 2015). These chapters are then followed by a final chapter on lessons from the modern presidency, as he did in his other book. He also includes the background on the presidents, notes and further reading (Google Books 2015).
