In the Article, When Mercy Collides with the Law, it talks about an Illinois man named Greg Schiller, who opens up his basement to the homeless when the temperature drops below 15 degrees. The city officials shut down what Mr. Schiller called his “slumber parties” because they violated many of the municipal regulations. After reading this article and taking into consideration each side, I am on the side of Mr.Schiller. Although Mr.Schiller may not be following city rules, he is doing something for the greater good. He is taking in homeless people and giving them a place to stay during the chilly nights. He provides them with cots down in his basement, hot drinks and simple meals, he even shows them old movies.
