Group dynamics

An individual lone man or woman living independently of others is rare and uncommon (Forsyth, 2006). Groups are essential to the lives of homo-sapiens, and vary from groups of two to a collective of thousands. It was found that on average groups tend to be fairly small and have a range from two members to seven members. Group dynamics aims to understand the larger systematic and interactions between people. Working and living in groups requires a different set of perceptual filters to infer and recognize what is going on (Forsyth, 2006). It is to these collectives that some of society’s most taxing tasks are differed, for example it is the job of a group of judges to decides whether a law or judgement is consistent with a countries constitution (Parks) much similar to the scenario in the play or film 12 Angry Men that follows a group for jurors through their decision making process.
