1. Why do some siblings differ in their linguistic preferences? There are several reasons why siblings could differ in their linguistic preferences. These reasons could include age, education, gender, etc.
2. How does gender play a role in determining which language is most likely to be used? It appears to be more common for girls to speak Spanish than boys. The theory behind this is since girls tend to interact more with female family and community members who appear to speak less English. Women were prone to not get much exposure to English outside of the home, from a career or class.
