The next morning, Alex has to attend a meeting that involved each plant manager which presided by Bill Peach. He decided to back to office. On his way he starts thinking the goal for the company. First, he thinks the goal is to produce product because they are manufacturing company. Then, Jonah refused.
Next, he thinks of quality. But why the Rolls Royce went bankrupt even they have a good quality. Quality alone cannot be the goal. He thinks maybe quality and efficiency come together. After that, he was thinking about technology the goal, but if they not keep pace with technology they will finished. He also thinks about sales and make money as a goal but is it not necessary as a goal for his company. Besides that, Alex make list of item people thinks of being goals such as cost effective purchasing and capturing market share. At the last, Alex want to make the manufacturing productivity and make money.
Chapter 6 In the evening Alex going back to the office, he was discussing his idea regarding company goal with plant’s controller, Lou. He said the goal of this company is to make money. Then they make further discussion how to reach the goal. They conclude that they need to increase the cash flow, return on investment and the most important is net profit of the manufacturing.
