Gu Kaizhi, was one of the most famous Chinese artists. He worked during the 4th century in the capital in the Jin Dynasty. In particular one of the most earliest works in our VoiceThread, is his painting of Lady Feng and the Bear. Although Gu Kaizhi probably did not create this work it is am imitation of his style and perhaps a recreation. It is also in a hand scroll format with texts. According to our text, the Admonitions scrolls had both illustrations and text to allow the females who enter the palace to take honorable advice from it. In this image we also see some sort of heroism involved relating to the honorable concubines in the style Admonitions scrolls as well. The curvature and lines in this painting is also very distinct to Kaizhi.
