What is guerrilla warfare? Guerrilla warfare is a surprise attack carried out by a small group. Guerrilla warfare was used a lot by Francis Marion. He was one of the founders of guerrilla warfare. This American hero is the star of this paper .So lets take a more in-depth look at the great Francis Marion.
Before he was “the Swamp Fox”, he was just Francis Marion. Francis was born to Gabriel and Charlotte Marion on February 26, 1732. He has one sister and four brothers. His grandfather Gabriel Marion was special. He moved from Rochelle, France to Goose Creek. Were he settled down and had Francis’s dad “Gabriel,” who grew rice there. Young Francis childhood was an epic story to be told.
The story of the Swamp boy. Francis loved to explore the swamp areas around his house. He knows the swamps very well. His knowledge for the swamps was very incredible if you were to blindfold him and lead him to different parts of the swamp he could tell you the location of the swamp you were in. Just as his knowledge for the swamps were incredible, his education was the same. He studied reading, music, math, and other subjects. Francis studied new things everyday until one day his father died. That’s when everything changed.

So while staying there for a while he became restless. At the age of 15, Francis went to see more of the world. Francis first thought was to be a sailor, to be able to travel to different places but those dreams failed when he got shipwrecked and very sick .So he promised himself to always stay on land. After that horrible incident he went back to Belle Isle and rested for a few days to regain his strength. After regaining his strength his mindset changed. No, longer restless Francis started to value life, having his own, and having pride in himself and his belongings. No, longer a Swamp boy but now is becoming the Swamp
