Charles Manson:
Serial killing involves murdering one person then another and then another. Despite this characteristic being similar among all serial killers, Charles Manson was different for various reason. For example, Manson decided that he would create a gang and gain fame for his crime instead of just killing people and attempting to remain undetected (Rosenberg, 2012). The purpose of this paper is to discuss some of the profile characteristics of Charles Manson.
Manson Back Ground Information:
Charles Manson was born on November 12, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio. 16 – year old, Kathleen Maddox was a criminal, drank too much and failed to take care of Charles. Six year old Manson was moved to various relatives. “One uncle he stayed with decided Manson was too feminine, so dressed him as a girl for his first day of school. Another uncle, while carrying for Manson, killed himself in protest to the authorities for taking his land” (Montaldo, 2012, para.2). Manson began to steal regularly. I believe his instant attraction to theft stemmed from his need to call something his own. At school he was a loner and a day dreamer at school.
As Manson entered his teen years his life was the same as his late childhood. When out he lived on his own he used money from armed robberies and getting around stolen cars.
Criminal Behavior:
[“Manson was released from Prison in 1958 and supported himself as a pimp. By 1959 he was again in front of the courts after being arrested for trying to cash a check stolen from a mailbox. He received a 10 year suspended sentence, allowing him to meet and marry his second wife before his next arrest in June 1960, facing Federal Charges for crossing state lines for the purpose of prostitution, Manson was found guilty and his probation was revoked” ] (Montaldo, 2012, para 10).
Crime Committed:
Manson told four of his followers to go to 10050 Ceilo Drive in Los Angeles and kill the people inside. The house belonged to Terry Melcher, the man who helped Manson with his music career. But he no longer lived
