In 2014 the CDC reported that 11,008 of the 15,872 homicides committed in the U.S that year involved a firearm(School Violence).On April 16, 2007 Thirty-two people died when a mentally disturbed gunman at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia shot students around campus killing 32 people.This attack was the most deadly in a long line of school shootings in the United States.In june of 2008 the debate over criminal gun laws got more complicated. in the end the United States Supreme Court ruled in District of Columbia v. Heller that U.S. citizens have an individual right to possess guns under the Constitution's Second Amendment.there are two sides to this topic on stricter gun laws.

The quote above is the second amendment which was created in 1787. The amendment basically says that all U.S citizens have the right to own firearms. This amendment was okay for the 1700’s, but the only guns they had back then were semi-automatic muskets and rifles that don’t nearly compare to the full-auto ar-15’s and ak’s of today’s standards.
