Gustav Holst was an English composer who was born on September 21, 1874, in Cheltenham, England. He was born into a family that came from a swedish origin and were also all very musical. Him and his brother Emil, who went by the name of Ernest Cossart as an actress, were the only children of Clara and Adolph. Sadly when Clara tried to have a third child, she died, so Adolph married another one of his students, whom he also had two kids with. His father Adolf was a well known piano teacher, so he wanted his son to be one too. Holst was involved in many different musical events, and was definitely a strong guy that worked his way up and never gave up.
