Since its founding in 1972, the non-profit organization Habitat for Humanity (H4H) has changed hundreds of thousands of lives across the globe. Whether through building affordable housing for the poor, providing financial education, or redistributing resources provided by government agencies and businesses, this organization doesn’t just build affordable housing; they build communities by truly preparing families for home ownership. While it was founded as a Christian organization, H4H provides their services to families in need regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender identification, or sexual orientation. Their openness is reflected in their willingness to work in communities around the globe, and by spreading good faith through their actions. Founded in 1989, Habitat for Humanity Stanislaus has made a substantial impact in the surrounding community. After the 2008 housing crisis, many families were forced to default on their mortgages, forcing them into homelessness. H4H Stanislaus responded by building what at that time was considered the largest housing development the chapter had ever attempted.
