In the play, Hamlet, there is a moment when Hamlet and his father, which is the ghost, seem to be getting along; however. there are some instances that show otherwise. Hamlet says, “Haste me to know’t, that I, with wings as swift As meditation or the thoughts of love may sweep my revenge" (I.v.29-30). This quote suggests that Hamlet suddenly wants to go against the person who hurt his dad. This proves that Hamlet cares about his dad since he wants to take revenge on the person that hurt his dad. Laertes said, "None but his enemies" (IV.v.143). Before this, they ask Laertes, what he is going to do since his father is no longer alive. They want to know if he is planning on hurting his father's friends or people that are against him. This shows that he is dealing with this situation well when he says that only the people that were his opponents. This is because he may have been thinking that the people that were not against his father might not have done something bad to him. Laertes said, "To cut his throat i' th' church" (IV.vii.127). The way that Laertes responds when he hears that Hamlet is coming back to where they are is pretty violent and he says it so suddenly how he is going to go against Hamlet.
