Hamlet and The Lion King are similar because both Hamlet and Simba’s father’s die. In Act 1, scene 4, Hamlet is seeing the ghost of his father for the first time since his death. The ghost motions for Hamlet to follow him and everyone thinks it is a bad idea. The other guards think the ghost will harm him or turn him crazy, but Hamlet goes anyways. It beckons you to go away with it/As if it some impartment did desire/To you alone” (Shakespeare I.iv.61-63). When the old kings were out of the way for the new kings, they turned the kingdoms into a mess. In the movie they lost all their food and had nothing to eat. They had ran all the herds of animals out of the land. Both of the brothers, the new kings, are responsible for the deaths of their brothers.
