James Hamblin’s article “Buy Experiences, Not Things” is simply this if you buy a concert ticket, movie ticket, or go on vacation you’ll be happier than if you just buy a material item such as the newest cell phone or a tablet. I agree with this buying an experience is a great purchase even if it only for a week or a day or however long the experience lasts. An experience is something that will last forever a material item will not it could break or cost you a job, a girlfriend, or even your wife depending on what the product is. Material things will not make you happier. The first point that Hamblin makes is that happiness is in the “Nothing material is intrinsically valuable.” I agree but would like to modify his statement.
