The saying “Happiness is like a butterfly” is not always true because people see the American dream as a way of attaining happiness through wealth and success. However, money does not buy happiness. It is the personal strengths that will lead someone to feel happy. People who pursue their dreams are sometimes unsatisfied because they seek the wrong dream and need to pay attention to the importance of developing their self-worth.

Some people are never satisfied as they pursue their dreams, because finding happiness depends on choosing the right dream. In The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald shows that Gatsby is never satisfied because he wants a high social status and connects with people who won’t make him happy. Gatsby went after the wrong dream.
