“Soldier’s Home” is a short story by Ernest Hemmingway set in the early 1900’s during World War I. The main character, Harold Krebs, is a soldier returning from the war after being deployed in the areas of Germany and Paris. After two years of being deployed, it was quite a shock for Krebs to return back to his old life. For Krebs, he has been gone for a while and everything he once knew is not complex; while he wishes it would be simple for him.
