Harriet Tubman was a great female hero for her outstanding actions and life. Harriet was born to enslaved parents which is a common characteristic of the archetypal hero. The archetypal hero has “unusual circumstances of birth” which in Harriet Tubman’s case is being born into slavery. Another common characteristic of the archetypal hero is that “the hero must prove himself/herself many times”. In Harriet Tubman’s life she was able to prove herself many times.
