Between the end of the civil war Harriet Tubman worked as a caregiver, “she homed mostly poor elderly people.” (Document E). The “Dorchester County, Maryland. The year was 1822, or thereabouts. The event: little Araminta Ross was born into slavery.” (Background Essay). Harriet made a decision that changed her life when her master died, it was to run. Tubman traveled 675 miles from Bucktown, Dorchester to Philadelphia.” (Document A). The greatest achievement of Harriet Tubman is her time being on the Underground Railroad. The reasons why are: she spent 10 years helping people, there was a high risk in doing it, she helped about 38 people.
