A hatchetfish has many species and looks. The silver hatchetfish is silvery white-ish color with a black streak running through the center along the belly. It has an asymmetrical shape. Asymmetrical is when something does not have symmetry. The shape of the fish is a hatchet/axe shape. Having this shape makes it asymmetrical. It is harder to tell if it is a male or female fish, but usually the female is rounder than the male. Their weight is unknown. The fishes mouth is on top of the head. The mouth is in a good place because it is used to eat surface foods. It has better eyesight to stalk its prey.
