After a long drive on the bus, the high schoolers have arrived at school. The high schoolers rushed to get off the bus in hopes of not being late. Everyone ate breakfast, except Jade. Jade’s excuse was always, “I’m not hungry,” or “I had a big dinner last night and I’m still full,” well Jade was lying. Jade knew she was not rich enough to have large dinners, she was hardly rich enough to have clean clothes. Her water kept going out because her parents could not afford to pay the bills.
Jade went to school everyday putting a smile on her face, everyone thought she was happy, but she wasn’t. Her parents were dying and she didn’t have a great job. She would ride her bike to a store after school to buy some food, but she mainly went to a fast food place to get cooked food. She always wondered what it must be like to be dying but having to suffer for a long time. Jade’s parents have suffered a month and a half. Now they are gone. No more suffering for them, but suffering for Jade. She did not have enough money for medication or hospitalization. They refused to go to the hospital anyway.
Four months have now passed. Jade was full of hate. She see’s all these other other high schoolers complain about how bad they smell, and they refuse to even go near her. How hungry, they are but she can’t even get food. Only once or twice a week now. Jade finally became sick, as sick as her parents were, she suffered longer than her parents did.
It has already been three months Jade has been puking her guts out. Jade is now skinny to her bones. Fifteen days later, Jade finally died. Everyone at high school did not care. They didn’t even know who she was. Jade was always quiet and never participated in any activity. Nobody understood
