Taking your time and visiting Kauai Island, you will realize or rather you will not need a keen intellect to why it is an island full of splendor, culture, raw beauty, ancient lore, and aloha. The island will take you back in time, at the beginning of the Hawaiian chain. Dubbed as the ‘green isle’ it is for all good reasons. It is, in fact, the greener island and most lush in all of Hawai’i. Aside from that when exploring this island, there are towns that you must not miss to visit and see yourself how they contribute to the beauty of this island.
Hanalei Town

Located 29 km west of Lihue, this town is believed to the Biggest Little Town of Kauai because of the welcome slogan as you maneuver its entrance. This town is known for its art scene and the concentration of artists in the town. In the 1800s, this town had three skating shrinks, two movie theaters, and many bars and shops. Nowadays, you must visit this town on Friday when the town becomes live because of the ‘Friday Art Night’ a popular event held on Fridays from 5-9 pm.
During this event, local art studios keep their door open for a bit longer and the local artists paint the sidewalks displaying their artwork as local Hawaiian music fills the air. Another attraction that you must see while in this town is the Hanapepe swinging bridge which leads across Hanapepe River. This town is also located near Salt Pond Beach Park where you can enjoy swimming and picnicking.
Kapa’a
This town has the largest population (about 10,700 people) in Kauai. If you love shopping this is not a miss to go town. It features a variety of shopping opportunities from small boutique stores to large shopping centers.
