I have always been awed at the night sky, and I believe that taking time to appreciate it can inspire us. I think this idea, which I displayed in my painting, is something the majority of society can’t relate to. How much time do people take to gaze at the stars and ponder life? This action diverts our focus from our focused view of daily life. It broadens our interpretation of the vastness of this existence: allowing us to apply this deepened perspective to the importance of each event in our life. A saying I’ve known ever since I was little says, “And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.” I think this relates to the sky; everyone finds it beautiful, but few realize its capacity to open the door to self realization. This project connects to the content standard of interpretation, which I feel I achieved. I was able to dig past my first impression of the Starry Night, so that the meaning became personal. I transferred these feelings to my painting, showing my passion in the color scheme and movement of the sky. I’d display this piece in my home to remind me of what really has value in my life, as the sky shows that not every little thing is worth worrying
