Describe the type of business activity conducted at your placement. What service is provided or product produced? Be thorough in describing the purpose of the business. The type of business activity conducted at my co-op placement is colonoscopies and gastroscopies. The service provided is health services. The purpose of endoscopy is to allow the physician to observe what is happening within the body at that moment. The primary goal is to provide the patient and their personal doctor with the medical information necessary to treat or prevent any gastrointestinal problems such as cancer or to remove foreign bodies from the upper lung airways or gastrointestinal tract.

What are your roles and responsibilities?…show more content… When the patients leave after their procedure i have to put gloves on and strip the bed and clean up after them, then grab disinfectant wipes and wipe the bed, pillow and counter. When the patients get discharged from the nurse I must call their ride and tell them where to go to pick them up and what time to come, I refill drawers, I also fold up extra “patient belongings” bags and booties to give to patients, when the nurse tells me to bring them a juice or water I go into the refrigerator and hand it to them and I also have to put the discharged charts in
