The article is one of a series of others focused on Healthy Aging in the Aging Adult classification of articles on the Mayo Clinic website home page. Other articles in the Healthy Aging series include: Healthy Living over 50; Healthy Retirement; etc. Article doesn't go into detail about the consequences of not taking the proactive approach via preventative maintenance and ultimately allowing the initial changes to progress into a chronic disease state. Not included in the article are those changes that occur physically over the course of time, say gray hair or arthritis for instance, and have no known method of treatment or otherwise to suspend or delay its progression.
