This case involves the death of 32 year old male Lancelot Ian Hedgecorth. Hedgecorth was found unresponsive by Reporting Party member Kirby Carranza. RP Carranza found Hedgecorth hanging from a tree limb and believed he committed suicide. There were no obvious signs of foul play.
INVESTIGATION: What is the difference between
On 05-14-24, at approximately 0728 hours, I was dispatched to the intersection of south Arroyo Boulevard and south San Rafael Avenue regarding a suicide investigation. RP Carranza reportedly found Hedgecorth hanging from a tree limb. Dispatch stated Pasadena paramedics were also responding to the scene. Sergeant Morris #5832, Officer Lopez #5339, and Officer Trejo #8515 also responded to assist.
Upon my arrival, Pasadena Fire Department Rescue Engine #39 (PFD Yu) was on scene. PFD Yu advised me that Hedgecorth committed suicide by hanging himself from a …show more content…

I telephoned the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner Coroner’s Office and advised Sickles #496712 of the incident. Sickles advised that a Los Angeles County Medical Examiner will respond to the scene under Coroner’s case #2024-07886. At approximately 0940 hours, Los Angeles County Medical Examiner Arnold #498313 arrived on scene. Examiner Arnold did not find any signs of foul play and determined that Hedgecorth’s cause of death was suicide. Examiner Arnold collected Hedgecorth’s body and his property from the scene. Hedgecorth was transported to the Los Angeles Coroner’s office.
I assisted Examiner Arnold with a next of kin notification at Hedgecorth’s last known address. Upon our arrival, Examiner Arnold and I were unable to gain entry into Hedgecorth’s apartment complex. Examiner Arnold advised that she will conduct further investigation to locate Hedgecorth’s next of
