But fortunately, being adventurous led her to become a well known crusader for the disabled. Keller lived in an arguably more difficult time to be unusual and the value of taking risks was major. Living in an imperfect world means risks are still necessary. Throughout our high school career, it can almost be guaranteed we all had not only taken many risks but various types of risks. Blogger Kyle Macdonald was sitting at his cubicle and right after reading an inspiring email, his eyes landed on a red paperclip. He comes up with the idea to actually sell this 1.5 inches piece of plastic and traded it for a fish shaped pen. Macdonald trades that for a weird hand carved doorknob and kept trading items while traveling around the U.S. His 14th trade was a two story house and a key to a city. He also got to hang out with the rockstar (who our parents might know) Alice Cooper. An amazing story and an adventure he will never forget, and it all started with a Craigslist post that read: “I want to trade this paperclip with you for something bigger or better, maybe a pen, a spoon, or perhaps a boot.” I doubt he himself thought he could imagine getting a house from the paper clip project.
