world, the need and use of helmets to avoid serious brain injury or even death in the event of a collision with the snow, a fellow
skier/rider, or even a tree has become blatantly more important than in years past and should be a must have for all those
taking to the slopes.

While wearing a helmet may not always protect you from a TBI, it is important to note that it may reduce the severity by taking
the brunt of the impact and will itself fracture.
While I do agree that wearing a helmet may not be the most comfortable experience, and that it may seem to hinder
your hearing or center of mass, I do not believe that these are valid reasons to not wear a helmet. Another point or case which
may be made against wearing a helmet, is that wearing one may cause the wearer to feel more invincible and thus cause them
to ski or ride at faster speeds or become more reckless on the slopes than they would had they not donned a helmet in the first
place. (Helmets) The final argument which renders food for thought against wearing a helmet is, there is no guarantee that your
helmet will save your life, or protect you from a head injury.
Even though, personal comfort is individualized and impossible to guarantee, there are many different helmets to
choose from and as long as skiers and riders make sure that they are finding helmets are certified, you may make
