In high school Lou was an all-around athlete. He played football, baseball and soccer. He attended the High School of Commerce in New York. In the years he attended the High School of Commerce, he became a star player in soccer. He led them to three championship games. She spoke to her boss Bobby Watt about her son Lou football skills so greatly; Bobby Watt attended his first Commerce game to watch Lou. Bobby Watt was impressed with Lou football performance that he gave Lou a scholarship to his university. Lou Gehrig enrolled in Columbia University in New York, formerly known as King’s College from the years of 1754-1784. Lou majored in engineering. He played fullback on the Columbia Lions football team. Lou Gehrig didn’t get famous for his quick running and fast moves. It was when Lou tried out for the Columbia Lions baseball team that his fame
