Trying to take his brother Apollo’s cattle from him. Hermes had took Apollo’s cattle leaving Apollo with nothing. But sooner or later Apollo tracks down Hermes still anxious about his cattle he had lost. But coming down an eagle with extended wings had told Apollo that the thief (Hermes) was the son of Zeus leaving Apollo shocked. Soon he had seen the tracks of his cattle and followed them leading everything right to Hermes. Apollo finally confronts Hermes in rage with Hermes getting frightened and scared. With Hermes using his innocent baby face that failed to deceive Apollo. Apollo had questioned Hermes about the stolen cattle Hermes telling Apollo that he had not stolen his cattle. Apollo had then took Hermes to the top of Mt.olympus where Hermes sought justice from Zeus himself. This shows that no matter the situation you shouldn't lie because if you do there's just more consequences. When Apollo took Hermes to Zeus Apollo had spoken first stating that Hermes had stolen his cattle. Hermes denied it and swore an oath that he had not done such a thing. Zeus had laughed and order Hermes to take Apollo
