The Gods
Zeus - Zeus rules Mount Olympus. His weapon is the thunderbolt. The central figure of the myths. At times he can be nice and represents a pure, forever sense of justice, at other times, he is mean and cruel.
Hera - Hera is Zeus’s wife, Hera is a very powerful goddess known mostly for her jealousy. She can be vicious and nasty, and it is usually Zeus’s affairs that angers her. Many unfortunate mortals go through suffering by ticking off Hera.
Athene - Athene was the great goddess of wise counsel, war, the defence of towns, weaving, pottery and other crafts. She was chosen crowned with a crested helm, armed with shield and spear, and wearing the

She used to entertain Hera as a distraction, so that Zeus could have affairs with the other nymphs. Hera found out what Echo was doing, and cursed her. The curse made it so Echo could only repeat back the words of others. Echo later came across and fell in love with the very handsome Narcissus. Narcissus leaned over to see his reflection in the lake. Being a vain person, he fell in love with his own reflection. He would mutter words of love to himself, which Echo would repeat. He never left his reflection to eat or drink, and slowly withered. Echo began to despair, and eventually took his hunting knife and killed him. There, boys and girls are devoured by the man-eating Minotaur, a monster with the head of a bull and the body of a man. Theseus, Prince of Athens, decides to put a stop to this and sails off to slay the beast. He promises his father, King Aegeus, that he'll change the black sail of the ship to white on his return journey to show that he survived.Theseus manages to slay the Minotaur with the help of the beautiful Cretan princess, Ariadne, whom he ends up marooning on an island on the way back to Greece. As Theseus approaches Athens, he's so full of himself that he forgets to change the sail of is ship to white. When Aegeus sees the black-sailed ship approaching, he assumes that Theseus is dead and hurls himself into what is now call the Aegean Sea. Theseus becomes the King of Athens, but loses his father in the process.

Atalanta - Atalanta was a beautiful and confident young Greek woman who had the ability to run faster than any other human. She consulted the oracle, who told Atalanta, that if she ever were to be married, it would bring about her doom. Fearing for her future, she decided never to marry. Instead, she developed a plan which prohibited any man marrying her. The only way a man could only marry Atalanta, was if he beat her in a footrace. If any man challenged her and lost, they would be executed.
