surprise attacked the Hessians in New Jersey and led his army across the Delaware River to capture around 1,000 Hessians in Trenton which in my opinion was a fine example of his bravery and courage. Through his perseverance and commitment to the American cause, America won in the end and it is the country we know today. However, what surprised me was that Washington had prejudices and bias against blacks who worked on his plantation as slaves and whom he considered not fit to serve in the army and also New Englanders who he considered undisciplined, nasty and dirty.
