The novel Hidden Figures, written by Margot Lee Shetterly, was an inspiring novel on how young black women were able to achieve their dreams and fulfill their compassions. There is a strong central idea displayed throughout the story in the different events that occur. The central idea I identified while reading was how women were able to illustrate the determination and perseverance needed to overcome racist and misogynistic beliefs against women, to accomplish their desired dreams.
