“To [dare] or not to [dare to contrast and compare?] [T]hat is the [real] question.” That is what William Shakespeare would have said if he was deciding on how to write this paper on high school choir. Even with his previous observation of Bessemer City High School’s choir, and his thorough interviews with choral students and choir director AJ Calpo. William would be baffled at how to even approach this complex topic. Would he talk about the many warmups and what each does for a student? Would he talk about how each individual choir is taught and why? Every student has a different reason for loving choral work, but dedication is what really affects a student’s perspective on how much choir affects their life and how much they enjoy choir.
“How much does this choir class impact your life?” I asked the almost five and a half year choral “veteran” Mister Randy Dover a junior in the Men’s Choir at Bessemer City High School. “Well, ma’am this class means the world to me.
