The story of "Hills like White Elephant", is Hemingway's attempt to explicate a relationship between a situation and pride. The story implicated that a man and a girl are in undetermined relationship in which a situation of her being pregnant and he wanted to terminate the pregnancy. I believe the story took place when abortion operation was condemned by society.
