The book fever follows Mattie in her eyes through 1793 while one of the biggest viruses was starting and ending. When they didn't have many medical tools we have today. The historical fiction book Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson shows many ways to persevere. These are just many ways Mattie persevere. In the middle book she persevered to save grandpa when they got thrown out of the carriage. She did not give up for looking for food and water. She found pears for her and grandfather. She also found water and did try to feed grandfather. She than collapsed from yellow fever. She got back to town with grandfather after she collapsed.
