I’m interested in why youth join gangs and what are the steps in joining a gang for them. The study was an open-ended survey questionnaire for the Hmong youth gangs. The main argument is that there are many reason why a youth would want to join a gang. Results shown that Hmong youth can be a gang member if they form a gang, jump in, or commit a criminal activity. It shown that the youth gang would join the gang for many reasons like having siblings or family members or friends who were in the gang, the excitement and thrilled, family problems or school problems, intimidation, and discrimination. The most reason for them joining was friends who were involved and intimidation. For the youth to join the gang the members would give the youth friendship,
